Spreading the Love at EFC AYLC 2015 in Japan

I’m very blessed to be able to make it for the second EFC Asia Young Leaders Conference (AYLC) which was recently held from 20th- 24th September 2015 at the foot of Mt.Fuji, Japan. The theme this year was, “Spreading the Love—a Kingdom Generation”.

Being a young working adult, oftentimes I’m burdened with an identity crisis. The question “Who am I” often revolves around my work. But through the sermons and fellowship with my family in Christ during the conference, I began to see God’s greatness and radical love for me. When I start to realize how deep our Father’s love is, I receive that peace knowing that I’m first and foremost, a precious child of God. When I am rested in a loving Father, by the grace of God, by the power of God, by the Holy Spirit dwelling in me, He will make it possible for me to lead a purposeful life to spread His love and bearing fruit for His Kingdom.

Also, the opportunity to meet my family in Christ from different churches around Asia—I cannot express how much I’ve been deeply blessed to be connected to them. When we lift our voices to sing to our great God, sharing and praying together, I’m simply overwhelmed by God’s presence. I’m encouraged to see my Japanese Christian friends walking faithfully in our Lord despite being surrounded by the 99% of the population who doesn’t believe in Him. This convicts me to believe that each of us are called to support one another so that people may see Christ in us.

It is very easy to “feel” on fire for God during the conference when I’m put on schedules to listen to Him. Pastor Chung Kai’s last sermon greatly impacted me, in which the hardest work after this is to apply the truth. To pass the truth, to build a legacy that lasts, I must build a firm foundation by becoming a lover of God’s word. I truly believe that by sharing our testimony boldly, or even caring for just one friend by continuous prayers, God will work in that person’s life.

I miss the fellowship and the sermons in the conference. I miss the clean air and the beautiful sceneries of God’s creation. I miss Japan. But more than all that, I know my eternal home is far more beautiful and that’s where I will fix my eyes on.

During one of the workshops, I met all these Japanese girls and I had so much fun just praising God and dancing with them despite our language barrier.
